Metropolitan Playhouse is pleased to welcome
Leadlights in November.
Leadlights is a New York City-based string ensemble
dedicated to presenting contemporary and classical music
in accessible, interactive ways. Our roster of
string players are all professional performers who have
earned degrees from Julliard, Manhattan School of Music,
and Peabody Institute.
In their own words: "We seek out partnerships with
organizations that are established community pillars.
Our programs are designed to give community members a
world class performance and a chance to explore their
own musical voice. We perform because we believe that
witnessing beauty - whether sublime or gritty - is a
human imperative, and that everyone should have access
to beauty through music. We interact with every audience
because we believe in taking down the wall between
performer and audience member. We love new music and
believe in the vital importance of both past and living
composers’ work."
